About Calvin
Calvin is the award-winning author of the illustrated book Return to the Absolute. His artwork explores ideas about the nature of reality and consciousness through visual concepts. They are typically produced using oil paints on wood, canvas or linen and built up in layers. Sometimes as many as fourteen layers, and around 300-400 hours can be put into a single piece.
Calvin’s fascination with radiant spheres is shown in his work through his regular use of these forms to depict consciousness, as well as energetic balance. His background in physics BSc(Hons) is also a strong influence on his work, which is evident in the regular use of light and radiant energy, as well as the underlying ideas behind his paintings.
