Complementarity illustrates 2 opposite pairs of ways of perceiving reality. The lower blue circle represents a feeling of separateness from reality such as in the idea of an observer and a reality made of separate parts. At the opposite side, reality is experienced as an indivisible whole where there is no separation between observer and observed. On the left-hand side the net flow of energy goes from reality to the experiencer signifying an experience or feeling of being at the mercy of reality and on the right-hand side, the net flow of energy is out towards reality signifying a strong creative flow of energy coming from the unique perspective into reality.
